Hello,

does FontExpert use the kerning information of the fonts to display the text samples?

Our drawing code in version 6.0 doesn't use kerning information for text output in Text Sample view. We understand that drawing code should be improved, so we plan to support kerned output in future releases of FontExpert.

That would be great. I noticed that Suitcase and and Font Reserve both don't use the kerning info for the text samples either. It's a little annoying that one always has to activate the fonts and preview them in InDesign or whatever to decide if they are good fonts. Even the Linotype Premium Fonts look bad without kerning.

I tried out the FontExpert Demo and I think it has the best approach to managing fonts of all programs. Mostly because you can activate real folders which you can't do with Font Reserve. And in Suitcase it's even impossible to organize your fonts in subfolders.

So please bring that kerned preview feature soon, i would be your biggest fan and you would have the most professional Font Manager for Windows on the market.

Kerning in Text Sample will be implemented in Version 8.0 Release 1 (August 2006).
