new to font expert

Post by WBGD »

I am trying Font Expert but I have some questions.

First off I used and loved the simplicity of Adobe Type Manager for almost a decade now so I find myselft getting lost in FontExpert. I do like it but I need to be steered in the right direction.

I am in the process of switching machines so I copied all fonts from my old machine to my new one. The are contained one location but in many subfolders.

Now do I just do a find fonts? Then copy them to a folder or a worklist or...

Basically what I want is a central location for all fonts, all installed. Then I can activate and deactivate and create style groups etc.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

You can find fonts using Tools/Find Fonts... window (and then copy files to some folder or put into Worklist), or you can try another feature: Tools/Create Library... which will find your fonts and organize them into a hiararchy of folders.
