Viewing bold, italic faces

Post by Corey »

When in Windows Font view,
Is there a way to view the true Bold and Italic faces in the Font Faces window without having to use the B or I buttons, and also see those faces loaded in the Windows Font window.

Some of my faces have bold and italic versions, and some don't. Using a catch-all bold and italic button, like in MS word, instead of actually listing them, does not give a true representation of what is installed.

The Properties view, Source Files property lists installed versions for selected typeface. For example, for Courier New font the property lists Regular, Bold, Bold Italic and Italic versions. In this case, pressing B button will select true bold typeface.

I understand your question. It is possible to display all 4 typefaces for selected font (Courier New, Courier New Bold, Courier New Bold Italic and Courier New Italic), but in this case B and I toolbar buttons make no sense, and both buttons should be removed from the toolbar...

Yes.

Showing them as separate fonts (which they really are) makes it easier and more efficient to view them, and is preferable to many graphic designers who are accustomed to avoiding the B or I buttons like the plague for fear of using a font that wont exist when it gets to the printer.

I must say, after trying about 5 different font mangers in the past month, yours is one of the more capable and user friendly.

Thanks for the response, I will keep the Source files expanded for now, and hope you consider adding the option to view them seperatly in the near future.

Thank you for suggestion, we will investigate this issue for the following version of the program (removing B and I buttons and listing installed versions of selected typeface).
